Abans Tours always attempts to ensure that the information on our website, promotional material and brochures is accurate and up to date. However, Hotels, Resorts and Boutique Hotels and other suppliers may amend or change without reference to us and thereby any error in the information is regretted.
Abans Tours reserve the right to amend/change and/or give notice to any significant changes at the time of booking. Please feel to contact us should you wish to clarify any information.

  1. Booking Policy

    • All Holiday and Tour packages are subject to a 25% deposit payment. After your booking is taken and the deposit received, a confirmation invoice will be sent to you detailing the total cost due.
    • Balance 75% payment must be received not less than 31 days prior to the commencement of your Holiday/Tour.
    • Some Hotels, Resorts and Boutique Hotels have certain booking and cancellation conditions and some Airlines may have certain ticketing deadlines and some and these may affect the Booking Policy / any cancellation charges.
    • Once your payment has been processed, we will send you an email confirmation and you will receive all Tour and Holiday documentation required including accommodation vouchers where applicable.
    • If we do not receive full payment at least 31 days prior to the commencement of your Holiday/Tour, we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled by you, thereby forfeiting your deposit by way of cancellation charges.
    • In the event you make a holiday booking within 31 days prior to the commencement of your Holiday/Tour, then you must pay the full cost of the holiday at the time of booking.
    • When a booking is confirmed by us, we assume that you have read and understood all terms and conditions contained herein and agree to them.
    • The selected packages are based on minimum of 2 persons sharing a double/twin room. Supplementary charges apply for single occupancy.
    • The Hotels, Resorts and Boutique Hotels listed in the packages are subject to availability. In the event of non-availability of a specific Hotel, Resort and Boutique Hotel at the time of confirming the booking, a similar/equivalent Hotel, Resort and Boutique Hotel will be provided.
    • The package is based on the meal plan selected.
    • Items of personal nature including drinks, tips to hotel staff /chauffeur guides and items not specifically mentioned in the package are not included.
    • Please note that where Air Travel is included, details of flights will be forwarded. Flights may be subject to delay or postponement by the Airline concerned.
    • Payments can be done using Bank Transfers or Credit cards. Please note that all Bank charges in connection with the transfer is to the customer's account. Abans Tours invoice value is the final net payment due to be paid in full. Where Credit Card payment is made, there will be a charge levied.
  2. Cancellation Policy

    • In the case of Holiday packages and Tours of "Special Offers" where a non-refundable policy applies, such "Special Offers" cannot be cancelled or modified.
    • Arrangements for Holiday packages, Tours and Excursions are made a long time in advance of your holiday using independent Hotels, Resorts, Boutique Hotels and other suppliers including Transport suppliers and at times Airlines, where Abans Tours has no direct control. On occasions changes do have to be made, and we reserve the right to make these.
    • In the event of a significant change such as a change to a lower category of accommodation not acceptable to you, we will do our best to avoid cancelling holidays but we must reserve the right to do so.
    • However, cancelation of your confirmed booking after the full payment has been made will apply in the event of "force majeure" or lack of minimum numbers where such minimum numbers apply to operate the Tour or Excursion. You will be informed as soon as possible of such cancellation for this reason and you will be offered the option for a future credit towards another holiday and/or Tour and/or Excursion.
    • In the event of Changes Due To Circumstances Beyond Our Control, except where otherwise expressly stated in the booking conditions, we regret we cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our obligations under our contract with you is prevented or affected by or you otherwise suffer any damage, loss or expense of any nature as a result of "force majeure", meaning any event or circumstances which we or the supplier of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include, whether actual or threatened, war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, epidemics, fire and other situations which are outside our control.
    • For all other Holidays and packages, the Booking deposit payment of 25% is refundable if cancelled prior to confirming the booking. A nominal administration fee of US$ 50 will apply. A 50% charge will apply in the event of cancellation 31 days prior to arrival. No refund is applicable in the event of cancellation 30 days prior to arrival. In the event of "No Show" no refund will apply.
  3. Personal Information

    Your personal data entered and supplied to us should be as per the information on your passport. Failure to do so will result in you not being able to travel to and from your destination! Any changes/modifications to incorrect information will result in additional costs and delays. If married, please fill in your surname as it appears on your passport and indicate your maiden name if and where applicable. Please make sure we receive your personal information at the time of confirming the booking. If we do not receive this information in time your booking will be cancelled.

  4. Passport and Visa Information

    A full 10 year passport with a minimum validity of at least 6 months after the validity of the holiday is required. We recommend that all children travel on full passports as it is now becoming a requirement for children to hold their own passports.

    A valid Visa is required to enter Sri Lanka. You can get a short stay visa online by visiting the Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) website by clicking here. Although it is still possible to get a tourist visa on arrival, it is recommended that you do this before you travel. If you arrive in Sri Lanka without a visa, you could face delays.
    Abans Tours cannot be held responsible for travelling without the mandatory documents.

    You are also expected to check with you GP or a specialist vaccination centre for details of the measures you will need to take prior to departure.

  5. Third party suppliers Holiday arrangements

    Where you book third party holiday arrangements with Abans Tours including Hotel accommodation, airport transfers, tours and excursions or other services that have been provided by Abans Tours, your contract will be with the third party provider for whom Abans Tours act as agent only and not Abans Tours. The suppliers' terms and conditions will apply to your booking in addition to the relevant sections of our own conditions.

  6. Hotel, Resorts and Boutique Hotels classification

    Abans Tours has classified Hotels, Resorts and Boutique Hotels used throughout our programmes and packages as three, four or five star to give a general indication. However, standards can vary between Hotels, Resorts and Boutique Hotels of the same class. It is recommended that to read the individual h Hotels, Resorts and Boutique Hotels descriptions.

  7. Transportation

    Abans Tours uses the latest models of vehicles with air-conditioning and experienced chauffeur/guides ensuring your comfort and safety.

    All Transfers, Tours and Excursions are based on shared travel from and to Airports, Tours and Excursions unless otherwise stated. Shared transportation use vehicles based on the size of groups, with stops being made en route to drop /pick up other customers and therefore, the actual duration of your transfer will be dependent upon this.

    You can upgrade to your own private transfer, Tour and/or Excursion at a supplementary cost. Details os such upgrades are available on request.

  8. Traveling with children

    • When travelling with young children, it is important to note that child seats are not provided for transfers other than when it is a private car transfer, where an advance request had been made (additional charge will apply).
    • 'Free child accommodation stays' at our selected Hotels, Resorts and Boutique Hotels are generally based on sharing existing beds in the parents' room. Requests for Separate bed must be advised at the time of booking, in respect of which an additional charge will be either added to your booking or payable locally. Charges will apply for all meals consumed.
  9. Early Arrival and or late Departure

    Check-in and Check-out times differ from Hotel to hotel and location to location. Generally hotel practice a Check-out time of 1000hrs to1100 hrs and Check-in time of 1200 to 1400 hrs unless otherwise stated. It is possible to reserve the room at the time of booking at an extra cost (no greater than an extra night price quoted) for Early Check-in and or Late Check-out.

  10. Minimum stays

    Minimum stays are required for certain packages at certain hotels for specific periods. Where applicable, the minimum stay required will be advised at time of booking.

  11. Honeymoon / Anniversary offers

    Anniversary offers only apply when celebrating your Silver (25th) or Golden (50th) wedding anniversary while on holiday. You need to advise us if it your honeymoon or Silver/Golden anniversary and bring a copy of your marriage certificate.

  12. All-inclusive Holidays

    While every effort has been made to offer the most unique and stunning Hotel properties, in some instances Hotels, Resorts and Boutique Hotels place restrictions on restaurants and meal arrangements. Individual hotels will operate different policies and full details will be provided locally.

  13. Peak Season Supplements

    Peak periods such as Christmas, New Year, Easter, School Holidays and other local Holidays require a supplementary charge referred to as "Peak Season Charge". Such supplements will be added to the cost of your holiday. They do not necessarily indicate that additional services such as Gala dinners will be provided. The cost of these supplements will be quoted to you at the time of booking.

  14. Abans Tours Price promise

    Abans Tours is keen to provide you with the greatest amount of flexibility in planning your Holiday or Tour and have taken great care in selecting only the best services and facilities. Holidays are special and we believe that the Abans Touch can make that difference. Consequent to our policy to provide a wide choice, a "From Price" price is indicated and vary depending on your date of travel, choice of accommodation and transportation and other special facilities you may require.

  15. Changes and/or Additions to your Holiday package

    Changes and or additions to any part of your holiday arrangements after the invoice has been issued, although will be accommodated to the best of our ability to make the change, it may not be possible. Any request for changes must be made in writing by the person who made the original booking. An administration charge of US$ 50 per booking, and payment of any further costs incurred as a result of the change will apply. In the event of a change to a lower value, and you cancel that holiday, we reserve the right to levy cancellation charges on the value of the original booking. Changes and/or Additions are not possible within 31 days of the commencement of your holiday.

  16. Health requirements

    For all Holiday packages, Tours and Excursions, in the interest of safety and comfort, you are expected to be fit enough to participate. If you require assistance you need to have someone fit accompanying you. Some of the Tours and Excursions may involve early starts and long days, with substantial travel between destinations.

    Please ask for more information on additional services and facilities that may be required depending on the nature of the Tour and Excursion, in the event if you have any disability or reduced mobility (confined to a wheelchair). Additional charges will apply for such additional services and facilities. Please tell us before you confirm your booking in order that we assist you in considering the suitability of the arrangements and/or making the booking. You are obliged to give us full details in writing at the time of booking and whenever any significant change in the condition or disability occurs. You must also promptly advise us if any medical condition or disability which may affect your holiday develops after your booking has been confirmed.

    We are happy to make special arrangements and request for special assistance with all third party suppliers. However, we are unable to guarantee same.

  17. Responsibility and Contractual obligations

    • Abans Tours cannot accept responsibility for any services which do not form part of our contract. This includes, for example, any additional services or facilities which your hotel or any other supplier agrees to provide for you where the services or facilities are not advertised by us and we have not agreed to arrange them as part of our contract and any other Tour or Excursion you may purchase while staying in the Hotel, Resort and Boutique Hotel.
    • Abans Tours will use reasonable skill and care as set out above and we do not have any greater or different liability to you, regardless of any wording on our website, advertising material, promotion or elsewhere.
    • All arrangements, services and facilities provided by Abans Tours as part of our contract are subject to the laws and regulations in Sri Lanka.
    • Our suppliers (including Accommodation providers such as Hotels, Resorts and Boutique Hotels, Transport providers and Airlines where applicable) function under their own booking conditions or conditions of carriage, and these conditions are binding between you and the supplier.
    • In the event that any claim is made directly with us, our liability to pay compensation and/or the amount of compensation will be limited in accordance with the laws and regulations in Sri Lanka.
  18. Your Responsibility and Contractual obligations

    Making a booking with us confirms that you have read, understood and have accepted the booking conditions and the Information provided herein, which forms our booking conditions. We reserve the right in our absolute discretion to refuse to accept any booking without necessarily specifying a reason. Hotels, Resorts, Boutique Hotels and Airlines now require the full name of all passengers as appearing in their Passports. In the event of you extending your holiday by making your own private arrangements, an administrative charge of US$ 15 will apply. Prices for accommodation only bookings can be quoted on request.

  19. Insurance

    It is important and recommended that you avail yourself of an insurance cover that it is adequate and suitable for your particular needs. If you fail to avail of an insurance cover and have to cancel your booking, you will be charged in accordance with our normal terms and conditions. Further, in the event of you requiring medical and any other form of assistance whilst on holiday you will not be covered and may incur significant costs.

  20. Your Feed-back

    We review our service delivery on the Feed-back from our customers, in our endeavour to keep providing our customers with the best personalised service and attention. Please take a few moments at the end of your Holiday, Tour or Excursion to complete the "Feed-back" form as we are keen to ascertain if you have had a stunning holiday and if there is any other way we could improve to provide an even better service. Completing the Feed-back form will also entitle you to be one of the lucky winners to one of our other Holiday packages. It is the Abans touch to say thanks for completing the form.
