Fusing the power of air sports with the speed and manoeuvrability of water sports, kite surfing is Sri Lanka’s most exhilarating and electrifying extreme activity. Environmentally friendly, it is also the world’s fastest growing sport. Having similarities with surfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding and power kite flying, kite surfing harnesses the strength of both the wind and the sea to make it an extremely challenging activity, but one that is relatively easy to learn. Once you have mastered the vital techniques, your enjoyment of the sport will soon be enhanced by high jumps, wave rides, technical tricks and astonishing speed.
Kite surfing can be done throughout the year in Sri Lanka; however the locations for doing so are governed by the island’s two monsoonal periods.
We offer kite surfing excursions to Kalpitiya from November to April (depending on weather) and to the eastern coast on request.
